Our stay at Alejandro’s was amazing! The house is exactly as pictured and even a 5 minute drive to a beautiful beach. The house had everything we could need. We had a large group and everyone was able to have space and we cooked many shared meals in the spacious kitchen. The pool had stunning views and it was incredibly waking up to the nature sounds every morning. We had a bit of a rough time getting to the place as our GPS routed us up the back dirt road and there were many pot holes and ditches. I would advise in wet season to only stay on main roads. Once we were able to navigate to the house everything was great for our stay. Beware of giant grasshoppers (and other creatures of nature around you in this property!) but that’s all part of the experience.

The Airbnb is beautiful and looks exactly like the pictures. This Airbnb can hold so many guests and accommodate everyone comfortably. The water temperature was great but the water pressure was not very strong. The location only has 2 restaurants nearby. The beach is in a walkable distance around 15 minutes. The roads are rough so schedule your transportation ahead of time. You also may have to pay extra because of how rough the roads are. The driveway has a steep incline as well.

All in all everything was great except for the transportation / road situation. Arrange transportation ahead of time especially if a driver is not available.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Brisas del Mar. The house was extremely spacious & clean, with a ton of personal privacy. With how the property is laid out, there are 3 private apartments separate from the main house, each with a king size bed & private bathroom. The driveway for the house is long & a bit steep, though it's concrete. The roads getting to the house, for about the last 10 minutes of your drive, are compacted dirt/gravel - not paved. They are a bit bumpy due to erosion from the rain, but really not terrible. I'm not sure a 4x4 is needed, but probably an SUV at least.

The beach at Puerto Viejo is about a 3 minute drive from the property and we saw no more than 10 people out there at a given time. It's about a 12 to 15 minute drive to Huacas for restaurants and grocery store options; 20 minutes to Brasilito for even more restaurant options and public beach access; 25-30 minutes to Playa Flamingo for sunset catamaran or other tour options; 35 minutes to Tamarindo.

The house is beautiful and accommodates a number of guests easily due to the placement of rooms, bathrooms, and extra rooms in the back. I appreciated the space , outdoor and indoor. The house is easy to get to IF the driver knows the area. Thankfully we received messages from Abby regarding how to get there which made it easier. The location is a bit out the way compared to other restaurants and activities so make sure you book drivers or have excursions with drivers set in advance! Everything was clean and worked well but we did experience leakage in the main room of the house as well as a funny smell from one of the bedroom bathrooms in the house. The photos were accurate but honestly the place is way more beautiful than I expected. I also didn’t expect to like the outside bedrooms but they were more comfortable than being in the house! I would stay here again if I needed to get away and be in more exclusive private area of Costa Rica!Also, check out Big Mommas Kitchen down the way

Todo excelente, los cuartos muy comodos, la cocina y la sala espaciosas. Esta equipada para la mayoría de las necesidades por lo que no nos hizo falta nada. Lo único a tener en cuenta es el acceso en caso de ir con un carro bajo pero solo si es en época lluviosa, pero parece que la calle la están arreglando por lo que no tuvimos problema y no nos llovió por dicha.

Anfitrión atento y cumplió con todas nuestras necesidades.
Recomiendo 100% ir en carro alto o 4x4, el camino es muy muy malo.

Let me start by saying that this Airbnb is in the most beautiful location. The views are stunning. If you're a fan of nature and scenery, this is the spot for you.

I came here with my family and we were very satisfied with the space. Everything was very clean- rooms, kitchen, pool, etc. The A/C worked perfectly (which was much needed). The dining room had a beautiful large table with ample space.

We did encounter some scorpions and wasps during our stay which I understand since it's in the middle of the jungle. But something to be aware of.

We lost power on our last night due to a rainstorm. That was no fun as we did not have A/C or fans to sleep and it was very warm. It lasted until the next morning. This was out of the host's control but I'm including here for transparency. Our point of contact Abby was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire experience.

Overall, I would stay here again. Amazing location, beautiful space, and gorgeous views. Highly recommend.

This place was absolutely beautiful and just as described in the pictures. Alejandro was a great host and very responsive. The house was clean and had many necessities such as kitchenware to cook, extra towels, and fully stocked bathrooms. The pool was an added bonus which had a cleaning guy come by to ensure cleanliness. I would love to stay here again. I would recommend following the host’s instructions to get to the house so you don’t get lost and recommend renting a vehicle equipped to drive on the dirt roads to get to the house.

This was an absolutely fabulous home to celebrate my husband’s birthday with our entire family. The home is beautiful, well maintained, has everything you need (including the kitchen) and the casita’s are a fabulous solution for large groups and people who need their own space! The views are beautiful (thus the steep driveway) and yes the roads leading to it are bumpy but it is all part of the experience (make sure to get a 4-wheel drive vehicle). Access to beaches, restaurants, adventures are just a short drive away! And the pool is a wonderful bonus. Blue Zone property management (Abby our contact was the best!) met every need from questions about the house, to planning adventures, shuttles, rental cars etc. and they responded to every request or changes to our plans very quickly any time of day or night. We will definitely be back!

Overall, this house is very cool and once you get past the quirks of the house, the stay is great.

Pros: Clean, modern, lots of space, and the pool is great. The casitas all have king beds (they describe each casita to have a queen, but they are actually king-sized) and a little patio of their own. Fully-stocked kitchen. Close to a beach. Not too far from Tamarindo and other beach towns. The management company was easy to reach throughout the day (I didn't try to reach out any of the evenings -- I was told to call if I needed anything after 5pm).

Cons: Be ready for a super steep driveway with enough room for 4 vehicles, but does take some maneuvering. In the kitchen space, there are only 7 or 8 forks (something that could be easily fixed..but get some plastic ones or bring extras if you have a larger group), the sliding door is hard to open & the screen door has holes in it (we closed the holes during our stay with painters tape), also expect lots of little ants (but you are in the jungle so expect it to be a little buggy). Also, in the kitchen, the dishwasher was broken for us. Moving on from the kitchen, expect to lose power & water...at least once. The management company was nice enough to bring extra water & flashlights after we called them a few times worried about not having power/water during the evening -- luckily, power/water came back before nightfall. (However, do remember, it's not the management company's fault when the house loses power...except having a backup generator could be a good idea).

Another note, if you are bringing kiddos, I wouldn't consider the house toddler-friendly. In the main house, there are stairs everywhere, the pool is close to the living room & kitchen sliding doors, and we had to re-organize the kitchen so that breakables weren't within reach.

OH -- also, make sure you communicate with the host about the time you plan to arrive. They will meet you on the main road and then show you the best route to the house. If you only follow google maps, you will take the bumpier dirt road & it won't take you to the correct gated entrance. So, do your part and communicate with the host.

Anyway, like I said to start, once you get past the quirks, the house is great.

I had a great time at this villa with a group of friends for a bachelorette trip to Costa Rica. Communication was efficient and they came quickly to help assist in any thing we needed. The house and view were beautiful! We felt secure with the security there and we even got to see monkeys! 10/10 recommend.

You will definitely need a 4x4 vehicle for your stay at Casa Brias. It is a lovely home away from home. The location makes it perfect to be amongst the locals and experience Costa Rica is it’s true natural.

What an amazing place, loved every second of it! The host answered any questions and concerns up to the moment I left in a prompt fashion. I would definitely come back and stay again!!!!!!

Terrific house with a great view and fun pool. Our adult/married kids stayed in the 3 casitas which were very nice. We enjoyed the pool multiple times each day. The view is great too. A short walk/drive to a small beach and just a 15 minute drive to Playa Grande and bigger waves and more sand. House was a little difficult to find the first time- probably because we were coming after dark. You have to drive through the main gate, find the house, and drive up a very steep driveway. We made it no problem with 2 wheel drive vehicles, but I could see how it could get slick in the rain. Everyone really enjoyed the house- Fully recommend. Note that there is construction happening right next door, so got noisy at 7AM everyday- but we were up and going by then anyway, so not an issue for us. Would have been difficult to sleep in otherwise! Great time- Thanks!

My friend group of 9 had a absolutely fantastic time at Casa Brisas del Mar. Highly recommend either renting a 4x4 or relying on Blue Water transfers to get around (~$22/pp per way). Playa Conchal is not but a quick 15 min walk from the Airbnb and is a quaint, quiet little beach with insanely warm water. All in all, we had a blast and would highly recommend this place for large groups.

Stayed here for me and my sister birthday, total of 9 of us & we had the best time. No complaints. The host & everyone was so great & answered any questions Ive had in a timely manner. The house is wayy more beautiful in person. Will be back

The house is beautiful- staff were so helpful with directions on getting to the house. House cleaning staff were amazing and kept the house clean with our big group! The Casitas are nice and private for couples! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to feed a large group. Master room is large and beautiful with a gorgeous view of the ocean! There is a private beach within 2 miles of the house that is great for swimming and hanging out for the day. Would love to stay at the same location in the future!

Great place to stay, great space, great view. The host was also great, very responsive, even on New Year’s Eve. There is a bad small in some of the bathrooms, that is my only complaint. Other than that, a great place to stay!

This home offered everything we needed for a memorable introduction to Costa Rica- a blend of clean accommodations and nature. A chorus of Howler calls and bird songs awoke us daily, inviting us to join them outside. Great combination of indoor and outdoor living spaces. Such helpful and honest staff- found and drove a lost diamond earring to us! Construction should be expected very close to the property. Costa Rica is busy with building.

The view is so nice! They were nice the whole time we were there, great communication skills. I loved it here. Most definitely will be back soon

Overall it was a good stay. The place was beautiful and that view is amazing. Only a few cons, the wifi wasn’t the best but it was 12 of us and you’re in the middle of the rainforest. Also, everything is further away then we thought. It may be beneficial to have a car rental. I suggest either having groceries to cook or buying multiple meals when you are out. Be aware that the groceries fee is $75+ the cost of groceries. There was a bad smell when flushing the toilet, the room I had in particular was really bad. Just keep the bathroom door closed to minimize the smell. Be mindful of workers, we caught a few looking in. The construction didn’t bother us, hardly noticed it. Again you’re in the middle of the rainforest so be ready for the bugs, lizards, etc.

Let me just say this was the best birthday trip EVER ! like the house the service and the location! They will help you book anything and they will pick you up . They will always answer the phone ! The place is sooooooooooo beautiful ! You see monkeys and birds and iguanas right outside your room ! Book it or booked one of there properties!

This was the best vacation I’ve ever had. The house was beautiful. The hosts were amazing. Their communication was above average. & the amenities were outstanding. The pool & view were our favorite part. As well as not being too far from the beach. It’s definitely a must stay.

The stay was such a treat for our group. Becky and her team communicated especially well with recs on activities, beaches, and even which stores to get fresh carne for the grill. Enjoyed it!

Lots of room. Beautiful house a 3 minute drive to a couple secluded beaches. You could walk to Puerto Viejo, but it’s worth driving the couple minutes to Playa Real or Playa Zapotillal. Your are 25 minutes to Tamarindo, but a world away. Very peaceful location. We had 6 people with us, but we could have had 10 or 12 and still not been crowded. Nice pool and great view from the back deck and back balcony. We would return

This is a gorgeous property. The layout was perfect for the group of ten we hosted. The kitchen and dining table were used for daily meals, a private chef dinner, and cards- lots of evening card games. The pool was so refreshing! We used the outdoor kitchen for grilling fish caught in our morning fishing trip and we made pizza's in the wood burning oven. With adults and a few teens, it was easy to put the teens in the two bedrooms to the left of the house, and let the adults retire to the master bedroom and three casitas. Finding the office for the keys was very easy, as was navigating the area around the property. The maid service we had three times was exceptional! The concierge service was a great help as well. Getting around does require a rental car. The property has a steep driveway but it is only about 25 yards and then there is another less steep hill to get out of the gated community. Total distance to the gate is about a 1/4 mile. There are no other inclines after that but the road into the community is a rough dirt road of about 4km to get to the paved roads in the nearest town of Matapalo. That drive took about 10-15 minutes. The walk to the beach was easy without a car, except for the two small inclines. There is a local bar and restaurant at the beach that served amazing ceviche. From the town of Matapalo it is very easy to get around to other beachs, adventures, and restaurants. You will want to bring in groceries on your way in to the house or ask BWP to stock essentials as grocery stores are at least 15-25 minutes and not open early or late. We came in late and it was lovely to have snacks, beverages, and breakfast items with us.

Fantastic home provided a very relaxing care free vacation. Private secluded setting, amazing views, close to beaches and short drive to every amenity. I will certainly recommend this property to family and friends. It really was a slice of paradise.

We loved our stay at this home! We have stayed here before, and have enjoyed each visit. The home is close to several beaches and wonderful restaurants, but is quiet and secluded so we feel like we're really 'getting away from it all.' We walked to Playa Conchal (lovely warm water!) several times during this visit, and traveled to other beaches as well. Since our last visit screens have been added to the sliding doors, which really enhanced the open air experience. We highly recommend a visit to this home -- you'll love it!

We stayed at this property for a week with an extended family of 10. First of all, the house is BEAUTIFUL and very well maintained and cared for. There was more than enough space for all of us, and the guest houses (which are right outside the house) were beautiful and offered some privacy. The pool was awesome and the views are incredible! The concierge, Marcelo, helped to arrange everything we wanted before we arrived - rental cars were there when we arrived, groceries (as per our list) were in the cupboards, and tours were booked, as well as a chef dinner for one evening. The tours that the company booked for us were SO FUN (highly recommend the adventure tour - even for small kids) and the chef who came to cook for us was so professional - a perfect way to end off the trip. The house is quite isolated up in the mountains, but still within driving distance to towns to buy groceries, and shop. Was super glad to not be staying right in Tamarindo, which although is a great spot for dinner or shops, is much more 'touristy' and we were happy to be in a house that felt like it was a little more immersed in local culture. You can definitely walk or drive to a few different beaches, which is great as well. Any time we had any questions or needed any assistance, Mario was a quick phone call away and problems solved within minutes. Loved our trip and loved the house!!!

The house far surpassed our expectations. It is lovely and accommodated our large group perfectly. The view is fabulous and the proximity to the beautiful beaches is great. Your staff were all most helpful. Mario and Gena made our stay everything we had hoped for. You are blessed to have such efficient people working for you. Incredible property - great for large families or groups. The 3 separate suites were perfect for the couples in our group. Support staff were very responsive (Mario is an great asset!). Playa Minas, Conchal easily accessible, (3-5 minutes by car) & are wonderfully secluded. Minas rarely has any people on it so it was like having a private beach. The house is simply lovely, well designed, well built, very comfortable. Close to Tamarindo (15 min. by car) which makes shopping easy. Nice to be able to run into town but then return to the relative seclusion of Brisas. Great views, great house for a party.....Pura Vida Yall!

Beautiful, blissful and private!! The pictures of the house do not begin to do it justice. You walk in to a lovely panoramic view of a 2 story high living room with stunning wooden ceiling and 2 story glass windows on either side of the house. The master bedroom is lovely with a wall of glass and private patio looking out on a view of the ocean and mountains. The master shower is a luxuriously large glass shower. The kitchen is suitable for a serious cook. It has almost every cooking dish and utensil you can think of and a few spices. Outside there is a sink, gas grill and pizza oven. The house is kept very clean by the maid who showed up for us Mon-Sat. We didn't notice any bugs inside the house (very important since I saw reviews of other houses where bugs were a problem). The pool was also well kept with little to no odor of chlorine. The location of the house is great since it is up on a hill and gets a good breeze. After a long hot day, the pool is nice and cool with that breeze and there's nothing nicer than relaxing by the pool and taking in the stunning view. Another appealing feature of this house is the Blue Water Properties Concierge Service. They were very helpful by recommending the best restaurants, shopping, sightseeing and tours so we didn't have to waste any time hunting around. There is a beach (beautiful with very few people) close by (maybe 1km?) along with a little restaurant on the beach. But most of the shopping, restaurants and grocery stores are about 20 minutes away. The concierge service also arranged a cook for us on the last night. The food was fabulous. She did a great job and it was the perfect ending for our trip. If you need a broadband connection, I did a speedtest and it was about 286KB/100KB. This means that your emails and wifi calling will work fine, but streaming videos or gaming is highly doubtful. Although 2 of our party were able to get low quality video skype working. We did see a group of howler monkeys. They didn't bother us at all, and the wall of windows in almost every room allowed us to take some very close up photos without scaring them off. The other visitors we enjoyed every morning and evening were martins. There was an array of beautiful birds that we thoroughly enjoyed. The house is private, secure and quiet inside of a gated community. I highly recommend this house and Blue Water Properties in general.

What a wonderful place, spectacular views beautiful rooms and all brand new. We had three couples and five kids and we had room to spare. Walk to a beautiful sandy beach (Playa Conchal) and minutes from numerous other great beaches and restaurants. The home has teak woods everywhere, a lovely pool and lots of room to spread out. We cooked many of the nights and even tried out the pizza oven. Loved this off the beaten path location and can't wait to go back next summer.

This home was absolutely beautiful. The photos do not do it justice. We arrived after 4 days in the rainforest, and were wowed by everything. The views were breathtaking! The home was extremely clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen is beautiful, had everything I needed right at hand. The beds were so comfortable, even the pillows were perfect. When we arrived, there were a couple of small issues which were handled immediately by the office staff (air conditioning and fridge temp). The only negative (which we would happily live through again) was the low water pressure, which was not within anyone's control. This affected the infinity pool, showers and kitchen faucet, all very minimal issues in light of the beauty and near perfection of the home. The doors of the home open fully, and there were NO bugs, so we often opened the whole house up and enjoyed the warm breezes that flowed continually. Several days, there were groups of howler monkeys RIGHT outside the home. Sooooooo cool! Also parrots, parakeets, and other beautiful birds, iguanas, and something that looked like a skunk (didn't get close to that one!) The pool temp was perfect and refreshing. We had help keeping the house for the week, her name was Maritza and she was fantastic. So helpful and kind. The location is ideal. We were a short 5 minute drive from the most beautiful beach in all of Costa Rica. We were within short driving distance of great local beaches from Tamarindo (south) to Portrero (north). The local town, Matapalo, was great. The people were so friendly and welcoming. We were forewarned of the "dangerous beach area" for theft, etc. but did not feel that at all. Lastly, this home is huge, and the guest homes are great. A wonderful, amazing home, you will not be sorry if you rent here!

Amazing!! We stayed at Brises Del Mar for two weeks in July 2012 and without hesitation it was one of the most magnificent experiences our family of four has ever had. The house itself gets 5 stars for design and comfort along with a 24/7 view of Bahia Pirata that was breathtaking not to mention the parrots, howlers, coatis and iguanas that were all around us; the infinite pool's a jewel; and the location of the house was second to none. There were great beaches just minutes away. We are already planning our return trip! The owners of Blue Water Properties, Becky and Keith run a very professional agency and we would highly recommend renting through them. Not only did they make sure that the house had everything we needed, but these folks actually cared that we had a great vacation. Becky and Keith, like the local Costa Rican's, were genuine, thoughtful and wonderful to us. We are grateful to them for making it such a special experience. Also the staff at Adobe car rental in Liberia were very helpful and reliable. We'd definitely recommend using their car rental services!
