At Blue Zone Experience, we embrace and embody this Costa Rican hospitality and the pura vida mindset. But we also add our own touch: Our Costa Rica travel team is 100% local to Guanacaste (either born and raised or proudly relocated!) and we’re committed to culturally immersive travel.

And so, as we set out to create our Blue Zone Experience Amenities & Welcome Package, we knew one thing: It had to be not just quintessentially Costa Rican, but wholly guanacasteco, or Guanacastecan (local to our province). Blue Zone Experience Bath Amenities

Blue Zone Experience is proud to offer AROMAS bath amenities, including our hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.

AROMAS is a Costa Rican company located in Nacascolo, Guanacaste, just north of our own headquarters near Tamarindo. Their brand and products are rooted in the principles of natural, organic, and honest beauty – in bath amenities that are not just good for you but good for the environment.

We are so proud to offer these products to our guests. Like AROMAS, at Blue Zone Experience, we believe that everything reverts to an origin point and that we should focus on the sustainable and comprehensive well-being of both people and planet.

Our AROMAS bath amenities are sustainable and vegan, crafted from organic, raw materials that are either certified organic by the USDA and Quality Assurance International or sourced from biodynamic farms to guarantee quality. AROMAS is also carbon neutral and helps offset its impact by planting trees in Guanacaste’s Tenorio-Miravalles Biological Corridor. And that’s a cause we can all believe in!

Blue Zones Nicoya

In 2014, Blue Zones Nicoya was founded on the principles of quality ingredients, 100% Nicoya-Guanacastecan products, and “Blue Zone” nutrition. Notably, the company is located on the Nicoya Peninsula, in the world-famous blue zone just south of our headquarters in Tamarindo.

We are proud to offer a range of Blue Zones Nicoya products, including their hot sauce and tamarind jelly. They are the perfect topping to your welcome basket’s crackers and cookies (see below)!

Café Tilawa Coffee

Based out of Tilarán, Guanacaste, Café Tilawa is high-altitude, Arabica coffee, grown at 800 to 1,250 meters above sea level, along the highlands of the Tilarán and Abangares mountains in Guanacaste.

Café Tilawa coffee blends Caturra and Catuai varietals that are beloved for their remarkable sweetness and notes of intense chocolate, tropical fruits, citrus, and almonds. The beans are roasted to medium strength, with a smooth finish. Costa Rica is proud of our coffee and we are proud of Café Tilawa!

Craft Beer

Did you know that the Costa Rican craft brewery scene is growing (and quickly)?! It’s true – and we couldn’t be happier about it!

At Blue Zone Experience, we are proud to offer our guests a selection of local, Guanacaste-brewed beer in our welcome basket. Our choices vary, so we can’t spill all the details here. But know, when you arrive, there will be a little something hoppy or yeasty or fermenty waiting for you in your welcome basket.

Crackers

Remember that hot sauce and tamarind jelly we mentioned above? Well, here’s your perfect pairing: Pozuelo crackers, a true Costa Rican staple!

Prior to visiting Costa Rica for the first time, you may be unaware of just how much Costa Ricans (“ticos”) love their soda crackers. We eat them with just about anything – as as side for fresh fish ceviche to, you guessed it!, smeared with jelly and hot sauce.

For your welcome basket, we’ve sourced crackers from the Costa Rican company Pozuelo. Headquartered in San José, they’re the only outside-Guanacaste company you’ll find in your basket. But, for good reason: This brand is about as Costa Rican as they come and is deeply rooted in tico hearts and local nostalgia. Enjoy!
